Spring Into Action for Springhill Hospice Spring Fair
Date published: 22/03/2006
Springhill Hospice’s annual Spring Fair is set to take place on Sunday 9 April and it promises to be even more spectacular than ever before. Now the local based charity is appealing to the kind-hearted people of Rochdale to step forward and help ensure than the event is as successful as previous years.
The Hospice is appealing for donations of goods, which can either be sold or won on the day. Items such as costume jewellery, Home bake, toiletries, books, records, plants, toys, candles, CD’s and cassettes are all essential.
Last year the event raised over £6,000, which was then used to fund a variety of essential activities such as the costs of nursing, care in the home and counselling and bereavement services.
Leyla Nejad, Community Fundraiser said, “As hospice care is provided free of charge for our patients, we rely heavily on events such as the Spring Fair to bring in the much needed funds to care for the community of Rochdale all year round. To ensure its success, we desperately need donations of goods that we can then sell on the stalls during the day. We all have certain items around the house that we don’t necessarily need or old gifts that we don’t want and though they are fairly useless to individuals, they are vital for us. There is free entry on the day for everyone and we also have some great entertainment in store for children so please come along and join the fun, from 10.00am until 3.00pm.”
