Murder on the dance floor at Business & Professional Gala Dinner!

Date published: 28/11/2005

The 57th Annual Gala Dinner started with a bang for the members and guests of Rochdale Business and Professional Women Club. The evening was held at the Norton Grange Hotel last Saturday and offered an unusual entertainment with the Rochdale Infirmary Players acting a Murder Mystery.

The 64 members and guests sat at the beautifully decorated tables with a “Black and Gold” theme and it was not long before the compulsory murder was committed.

The three course meal was interspersed by dialogues and cryptic clues from the cast, leaving the guests guessing who committed the murder.

While the cast retired to uncover the answers and pick the winner, a charity raffle took place.  The cast shortly revealed that the American lady killed poor Tim the jockey for financial gain.

The evening concluded with a disco.

Over £500 was raised during the evening and all proceeds went to BPW President’s charity, CLAPA (Clef and Lip Palate Association).

Rochdale BPW Club offers a varied programme of event, which includes training and social evenings. Enquiries, please contact L Todhunter - Tel: 01706 85304.
