Queens Park, Heywood
Police are appealing for information after being called by members of the public to reports of concern for welfare of a young girl at Queen's Park Road, Heywood on Sunday night.
It’s believed that she was in an altercation with two people in Queen's Park at around 8.30pm. Police believe that the two individuals left in a gun metal coloured Audi, and the young girl walked off separately with a man.
Officers are following several lines of enquiry, and have spoken to witnesses from the park, but are appealing for further information to ensure that the young girl is safe and well.
Detective Sergeant Tim O'Callaghan from GMP Rochdale said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the members of the public who spoke to the young girl in the first instance, and for reporting their concerns to us.
“We do believe that the girl knew who she left with, but we want to appeal to anyone who may have more information to come forward so that we can ensure she is safe and well.
“If you were in the Queen's Park Road area of Heywood on Sunday night, and witnessed the incident or heard anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch, no matter how small the information may seem, it may be vital to our enquiries.”
