RBH and the Council working together
RBH’s new Chair, Ian Agnew, today reported that positive progress is being made in terms of working with the Council to learn the lessons from the Audit Commission’s recent report into last years failed Chief Executive recruitment process.
Since being elected by his fellow RBH Board members in March Mr Agnew has held several constructive meetings with the Council including one with Councillor Alan Taylor, Leader of the Council. Later this week he is meeting with Council Chief Executive, Roger Ellis.
Mr Agnew said “It is very clear to me that the real underlying message to both RBH and the Council from the Audit Commission report is that both parties need to commit to putting the time and effort into developing a strong and mutually respectful relationship. We have made a good start to this.
“I am aware that some people seem to think that the Board is not being proactive on moving forward. This is patently wrong. We are in fact going through a measured process of discussing the Audit Commission report and agreeing a robust joint action plan with the Council. The Board is not in the business of quick fixes.”
