Tea at 3 at Springhill Hospice
Date published: 27/05/2006
Britain’s biggest Tea Party, Tea at 3 will be coming to Rochdale again in June and for those who have not managed to get involved by arranging their own gathering, Springhill Hospice is now inviting them to join their very own.
Last year, around 3,500 tea parties took place across Britain as part of the Go Yellow Campaign, which aims to raise money and awareness for Hospice’s across the country. Around 30 of these parties were held right here in Rochdale, one of which was at the Hospice itself, where over a hundred people enjoyed fresh cream cakes and a luxurious afternoon whilst grabbing a bargain at the same time!
This year Springhill Hospice’s Tea Party will be on Friday 16 June at 3.00pm and, like last year, tea and cakes will be available for all visitors. There will also be a bring and buy sale with a special appearance from Rochdale Online's Rod Barry, one of the winners of Channel 4’s Countdown last year. He will be bringing along his Countdown Teapot, only available to those who have won the hit TV Show, to serve party-goers and challenge those willing to defeat him at the official Channel 4 Countdown game.
Entrance to the party is free so if you’re free, get your odds and ends together to bring and buy at Springhill Hospice. For more information on Tea at 3 and useful ideas about how to get involved, contact Springhill Hospice Fundraising Department on 01706 711144.
