Students raise £1,500 for Springhill Hospice

Students studying the Certificate in Administration course at Hopwood Hall College have raised a fantastic £1,500 for Springhill Hospice.
The students visited the Hospice in January and were given a guided tour. After discovering that the day to day costs of running the Hospice amount to over £5,000, dependant on charitable donations and support from local people and businesses, they decided to raise money for the cause as part of their course.
The group organised various events throughout the college year, including a tombola, raffle, "name the bunny’, auction and a collection. A special thank you to Alexandra’s Jewellers, Advance Technology, and all other local businesses, who all contributed to making this event a great success.
Ian Jenkins Fundraising Manager: "We are delighted that the college students chose to raise money for Springhill Hospice and look forward to working with the college again in the future. The Hospice and the college have worked together often to raise funds to help complete our recent new build, that cost almost one million pounds and includes three individual patient rooms and two en-suite relative rooms."
