Armed robbery at Middleton petrol station

Police are appealing for witnesses after a petrol station attendant was threatened with a gun in Middleton last night, Wednesday 18 October 2006.

At 8.45pm police were called to the Alkrington service station on Manchester New Road following reports of an armed robbery.

When officers arrived they found that a man had entered the station masquerading as a customer, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the attendant saying, "Give me the money."

The attendant emptied the till, and the man left with hundreds of pounds in cash.

The offender is described as being a man in his mid 20s of medium build and wearing a dark coloured scarf around his head. He was also wearing a light blue polo shirt and dark pants at the time of the incident.
