Event offers help and advice with disabilities
Date published: 19/10/2006
If you are a disabled person, a carer, or a friends or relative of someone with a disability, then a free event, The Disability Information Day, on Wednesday 25 October at Rochdale Town Hall, between 11am and 3pm, could help.
The event will offer information on lots of topics including accessible housing, equipment, transport, benefits, carer's rights, direct payment, training, sports and leisure, health, jobs, and the world of work.
More than 30 different organisations will be there to help you with a wide range of issues. There will be easy access to all the stalls and you can talk to advisors face to face.
Support workers and a BSL interpreter will be attending and light refreshments will be available between 12 and 1pm.
The day has been organised by Rochdale Council's Joint Investment Plan (JIP) team and funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Go along and see what can be done for you.
