Job seekers joy at Rochdale jobs and skills fair
Date published: 04/09/2007
The Annual Jobs Fair organised by Employment Links in partnership with Job Centre Plus and the Kingsway Recruitment Team has become one of the most successful events in Rochdale attracting local and national employers from across the Borough to meet with people actively seeking work. All the employers who attended the event were currently recruiting locally and many people filled in job applications on the day.
Jobs were available with, Agilisys, Argos, Blue Arrow, Boots, Red Retail, O2, Rochdale MBC, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, Greater Manchester Police and more.
This year’s event also incorporated a number of training providers who were on hand to provide direct advice and information on skills training in the Borough.
Employment Advisors were also on hand to assist Rochdale residents with job applications, job search advice and CV preparations.
The event was opened by the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Peter Evans, accompanied by the Lady Mayoress. The Mayor said: "I am keen for this jobs fair to succeed because of course the more people we have employed, the better it is for the borough. I would like to thank the Employment Links Partnership, Rochdale Job Centre and Kingsway Business Park for all of their hard work in helping local people to find jobs and for organising this event and hopefully it will prove to people that are genuine jobs available in Rochdale. I hope that the jobs fair is a success and it is a great pleasure to be here to open it."
