Date published: 18/11/2008
A 53-year-old man has been charged with making and owning ammunition.
Christopher Pearson of Edenfield Road is due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Monday 1 December charged with one offence of manufacturing prohibited ammunition, the possession of ammunition without a certificate and three counts of possessing ammunition without the authority of the Secretary of State.
He was arrested when officers from Greater Manchester Police's Armed Crime Unit carried out a series of warrants on 1 February 2007 following a 12-month intelligence-led operation into the purchasing of firearms and ammunition.
No further action will be taken against a 48-year-old man from West Yorkshire who was also arrested at the time.
