M60 accident blackspot to be improved
Date published: 06/10/2008
One of the busiest motorway junctions in the North West is to be improved to prevent accidents.
70 accidents have occured in the past five years at the M60 junction 12 Eccles interchange, where the M60, M62 and M602 motorways all meet.
The Highways Agency will introduce new, clearer road signs and improved road markings to make the junction safer. The changes will cost around £500,000 and are due for completion in March.
Work will start on Wedesday (8 October) on the link from the M62 Eastbound to the M60 Southbound (anticlockwise carriageway) over eight nights, from 10pm-5am.
Diversions will be in place while the link is closed.
