Man charged with firearms offences

A man has been charged after a number of guns and ammunition were found at a house in Middleton.

Man San Chan, 30, of St Dominics Way has been charged with possession of a firearm in a public place, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of an automatic rifle.
He appeared before Rochdale Magistrates Court this morning (Monday 15 September).

The charges relate to the discovery of a weapon by officers last Tuesday (9 September) when a handgun was found in a car. A warrant to search a house was granted, and a number of guns and ammunition were found.
