Teacher arrested for 'grooming'
Date published: 23/07/2008
On Friday 18 July 2008, detectives in Rochdale arrested a man on suspicion of grooming a child.
The 25-year-old man, a teacher at Holy Family School in Heywood, was interviewed and bailed until 21 November 2008, pending further inquiries.
The Local Authority and the school governing body have refused to comment, all the Council would say is: "The matter is with the police and we cannot comment further at this stage."
No one was available at Salford Catholic Diocese Education Department to comment.
However, we understand the teacher has been suspended from the school and that his home computer and school laptop have been seized by the police.
'Grooming' is the name for techniques used to entice children into sexual activity.
Have Your Say
How many cases of accused 'grooming' fall through before they get to court? too many teachers are falsly accused! Let the verdict speak for itself.
I am a student (year 9) from Holy Family and i know this teacher. I have known him for 3 years and he has really helped me and my friends through every I.T. lesson ive had. Ive alwasy struggled with I.T. and this teacher has made everything easier for me so why the hell are people accusing him of child "grooming" when i know for a fact he would nver do that!!

i think this is disgusting no teacher should do that to a child if he is found guilty he should not get a job nowhere near children
