Castleton pharmacy honoured

A Castleton pharmacy has won a top award following nominations by bosses and fellow branches. The United Co-op Health Care pharmacy on Elizabeth Street has been named the organisation's Branch of the Year, out of 150 across the Midlands, North Wales, North West and Yorkshire.

Manager Ifti Khan commented: "It was a great honour to win the award which recognized not only high performance and standards, but the commitment of a dedicated and hardworking team."

Another factor said Mr Khan, was dramatic reductions in waiting times achieved by the Collect Direct service whereby repeat prescriptions are collected from doctors' surgeries and prepared in advance for patients. In addition, following customer feedback, shelving units have been removed to make the shop more accessible for elderly and disabled people.
