Successful first year for Littleborough Gallery

Littleborough’s first fine art gallery has enjoyed a successful first years trading. It has been welcomed enthusiastically by the growing local artistic community and is attracting clients from all over the northwest.

Situated in a traditional stone building the gallery houses a changing programme of solo exhibitions as well as regular displays by the in house artists. It specialises in original work but also sells prints, frames cards and jewellery.

Owner Elizabeth White, herself an artist and author of ‘Craft and Art – The Business’ said. “Littleborough has proved to be an ideal place to open a gallery; there is a growing appreciation of arts in the area, highlighted by the success of Littleborough Arts Week. We intend to specialise in providing artwork to businesses, and have requirements for and commission work if necessary. Whether they want a portrait of the chairman or a contemporary piece of work, we can fulfil their needs.

Littleborough is an attractive village on the edge of the Pennines, and has a popular tourist attraction – Hollingworth Lake. The gallery is open Friday/Saturday from 10-5, Sunday 12-4 and other times by appointment.
