Salary: £14,437 - £17,257 Per Year

Permanent, Full Time

After the hugely successful launch of the Health Trainer programme last year, we are looking to expand the service by recruiting even more full time and part time Health Trainers in the Rochdale Borough.

It could be that you currently work within health care, are looking for a complete change of career, or haven't been working for some time. As long as you are friendly, approachable and like helping people then we want to hear from you.

Health Trainers are people from the local community who provide support and advice to people wbout how to lead a healthy lifestyle. This might be giving advice on how to stop smoking or what type of food people should be eating. Health Trainers are very well known locally and work closely with people to set realistic goals to improve their health.

Ideally Health Trainers would live in or be a part of one of the Heywood, Middleton or Rochdale communities. You will also need to have a good standard of written English and be able to communicate clearly with different people. You might even be qualified to NVQ level 2 or have equivalent experience but a willingness to learn and work towards a level 3 qualification is essential.

Once recruited, all Health Trainers will go on a 12 month training programme to make sure you have all the knowledge and skills needed to do the job.

Our Health Trainers receive the following benefits:
Family friendly, flexible working.
Ongoing professional training and personal development.
27 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.

You can request an application pack by attending our open day on Monday 12 May 2008 at Middleton Civic Centre between 1.00pm and 5.30pm.
